It's impossible to explain but I'll try anyway. The Midnight and their peers leading synthwave don't understand the influence they are having on people's lives. They are doing things for us that are greater than they can probably imagine. We are having conversations about how this new wave is literally scoring the best years of our lives. This is the music we will remember from our youth, forever. This is the music our generation will be playing for their children while they sit in the backseat and dream. It's permanently a part of our history. It's so definitively, for many of us, the sound of a time and place in space that is otherwise completely inaccessible with words.
