Cokeworth grew on me
I just went on a find-and-replace-apalooza in my fic files, to replace my fanon name for Severus and Lily's home town with the post-Pottermore canon name of Cokeworth. I finally warmed to it when I found out it was already mentioned in PS/SS as one of the places where Vernon drug everyone to while trying to run away from the Hogwarts letters (Railview Hotel on the outskirts of a large city named Cokeworth).
I'd wonder if The Mill near Spinner's End was a steel mill (coke being a vital ingredient in steel) except that Spinner's End still suggests a textile mill. Maybe there is both a steel mill and a textile mill in the town? Or maybe the person who founded the town just happened to be named Cokeworth. :P Well, whatever it turns out to be (if it's revealed) I may or may not incorporate it in my fic/fanon (it depends on how hard it is to incorporate).
