Yeah! It’s pretty darn cool! Maybe I’ll post pictures of my finished projects at some point. I’ll have to get permission,though -- two of them feature content that isn’t mine, and I don’t wanna spread people’s real human names around. I’m pretty proud of them, as crude as they are!

OH MY GOD Persuasion is the best… once you finish I HIGHLY recommend you seek out the 1995 filmed version with Amanda Root and Ciaran Hinds, because it is literally perfect THAT IS RIGHT I SAID PERFECT (disclaimer: i have not watched the 2007 film) :)

I’ve read it several times. I have terrible insomnia, so my husband reads to me before bed (apparently his dulcet tones act as a soporific ;D). He usually reads me books I’m already familiar with (he has read me Pride and Prejudice SO MANY TIMES) because if I already know the text I’m more liable to fall asleep and not stay awake to see what happens. We learned that the hard way.

This isn't even a far stretch — Europeans (and even Canadians) have quite a few more statutory holidays than USians, and there's virtually none of that Gender Reveal nonsense in those countries. I work with people from the US and there's like four fucking national long weekends a year, vs practically one a month other places. Bonkers, man.

Ha, sorry! I do tend to use prompts as short warm-ups, partly so they don’t get completely out of control -- I have seen people write lengthy, loving, lavishly developed fics from prompts, and I have sometimes done that myself, but I also want to mix the fun of prompts with other ongoing writing, so I try to keep them a little bit leashed.

That said, though... there’s definitely more to explore with the particular characters of Garrus and Joker, whose friendship is potentially complicated.

If you check in with Joker early in ME2, after Garrus is recruited, he’s sarcastic about Garrus in a way which suggests they were not the best of friends in ME1. And there’s no reason they would be -- their areas of interest and expertise are fairly different, after all, and since Joker isn’t on the ground team, he’s not professionally required to work in close proximity to Garrus.

And yet, in ME2, there they both are: both former crew members who arguably did not deal with Shepard’s death terribly well, and/or had difficulties fitting into their work environment, and so they’ve both ended up on the SR-2. Changed, a bit worse for the wear in Garrus’s case, at least.

But even if they weren’t exactly friends before, it must be a bit of a relief to see the other person now, right? Someone who’s a bit of a known quantity in this new environment, someone who can be trusted to side with Shepard.
