As I waited in line for a brief minute or so I silently observed the staff members. The barista made sure to offer patrons a friendly smile whenever he had the time between jobs, exchanging amicable small talk and creating a sense of familiarity that certainly made me feel quite at home even as an onlooker. When I stepped up to the counter I was greeted by yet another smile, this time from the young waitress who was nothing but happy to wait for me while I flicked through the menu and subsequently snapped photos of as much as I could before deciding I'd made enough of a nuisance out of myself. I settled on ordering a freshly squeezed orange juice and later a weak cappuccino. My order came to a total of $9.20. The orange juice was served chilled but was a little on the small side for $5.50 I felt. Though it was delicious and presented in a delightful mason jar, a large portion of the petite serve was undrinkable foam that left me somewhat disappointed in my decision. I returned to the counter to order my second drink and was far more impressed by the result. The $3.70 coffee was piping hot and served with an adorable spoonful of tasty chocolate drops, an interesting and welcome alternative to the standard wrapped mint chocolate that I am yet to see anybody ever bother to actually eat.I would recommend Coffylosophy to anyone looking for a quiet venue and a decent coffee, as long as they are limited to groups of three or four people at the most as seating is limited. I think this location is ideal for university students and the like hoping to get some reading or writing done.
