oh oh oh... writing meme! 4 and 5 please!
4. How much do you trust the reader?
Depends on the reader! I have a core of very talented, very astute writer friends who I trust to pick up what Iām putting down. I write for those people, FYI. I get plenty of comments asking me questions about a story that are clearly answered in the text itself. I am not writing for those people. I recognise that everyone has different abilities, preferences, skills and priorities when reading fic, so I write for the like-minded folks and I hope that less intense readers can still get something out of my stories, too. Since most of them are porn, I would imagine they do.
Fundamentally, I try to trust readers to read for their own enjoyment and recognise when one of my stories is not for them. I believe in the power of the backspace key!
5. Have you ever written anything you wouldāve backclicked if itād been written by anyone else?
I donāt think so. A couple of my earlier, short gen pieces I might have skimmed and idly given a duty-kudos to.
Iām answering these questions about writing shame.
