Hot chocolate: what’s your favorite dessert?

Oh, hmm. Ice cream is probably my favorite type of dessert - I hardly ever turn it down. I love vanilla, but I am also a big fan of Ben & Jerry’s Cherry Garcia, Coffee Toffee Crunch, and Phish Food. Honorable mention to Tillamook Mudslide, too.

But I must also mention that I’ve recently discovered pasteis de nata, which are Portuguese egg custard tarts. And y’all. Y’all. I would marry that custard. It’s delightful, and it’s made me aware of the loveliness that is the combination of lemon and cinnamon, so I think that’s a contender as well!

Here are some pictures of the pasteis de nata I made myself a couple months ago (I made everything from scratch, including the pastry). There’s no good reason for the pictures other than that I’m proud of the way these turned out.
