I don’t think series 11 is a regression and I don’t think Chibnall is trying to make Thirteen into the new Ten. I don’t think Doctor Who has lost its darkness or its integrity. I think this is a Doctor who is putting on a happy face and pushing through the epic tons of shit they have had to deal with in their very long life, and it’s pretty clear that they are clinging to their new little “fam” in a desperate attempt to keep being happy and not remember all the loss and sadness and anger.

My initial reaction was, OMG IT’S A WOMAN I SO CALLED IT. The more I think about it, the more excited I get. Like, I haven’t really seen anything she’s been in, but I think Jodie is an excellent choice for the Doctor. From what I’ve seen and heard, she’s a fantastic actress, and I can’t wait to see what she’ll bring to the role.

I want to see Thirteen do everything else that any other Doctor has done. I don’t want there to be any kind of fuss over the fact that they’re a woman now; they’re still the Doctor. I mean, a little bit of initial shock is fine, but I don’t want it to be made into some huge deal, you know? But adventure-wise, I’d love more visits to the past, just because those are my favorites. But the future would be great as well. Maybe falling into Pete’s World and visiting Rose and Ten II I mean what.

I kind of want her costume to look a lot like Twelve’s when he first appeared, just because I think Jodie would look dapper af like that. I don’t want them to put her in a dress just because she’s a woman, but I also don’t want them to try to “hide” the fact that she’s a woman, if that makes sense. Put her a nicely tailored suit or something, but whatever her costume is, I hope it continues to be functional and isn’t just meant to be “pretty.”
