I made a post about how Star Wars would totally have their own version of Taylor Swift and it wouldn’t leave my brain. So, introducing:
Talora Sloane. Pantoran. PopStar. Same body and face shape as Taylor Swift but with blue skin, lavender hair, amber eyes, and yellow face tattoos(if someone wants to do fanart, feel free!)
Talora Sloane HCs:
Talora has been Riyo Chuchi’s best friend since childhood.
Talora has two tooka cats named Selene and Oliver.
Talora is a big reader and always has a book at the ready. When she’s not performing, of course.
Mace Windu is a close family friend and has been one of her biggest supporters since childhood. She calls him Uncle.
Massive Clones Rights advocate.
Loves meluroons, tea, noodles, and the color pink.
When not performing, her outfits consist mostly of plaid mini skirts, boots, and cardigans.
Lives in a lovely Coruscant apartment that she shares with Riyo.
During the Clone Wars HCs:
At the start of the war, she was kidnapped by separatists and rescued by the bad batch at Mace’s order. They all became quick friends.
Talora and Hunter had a brief fling/ short-term relationship but remain close friends.
When the Bad Batch is on Coruscant, they stay with Talora and Riyo.
The Batch introduces the two girls to Cody. Talora and the batch are proud members of the Codiyo Canoe.
Shortly after meeting the batch, her music is sold, and Tech suggests she rerecord it.
The Eras Tour happens during the war and only on Republic planets. The profits go to buying her music back and clone rights.
Talora meets Fives(post Citadel Arc) while hiding from paparazzi. He helps her, and they spend the day together. They start to date semi-secretly. Mid Eras Tour.
Ahsoka and Hardcase are massive Talora Sloane fans and freak when they find out about Talora x Fives.
Fives met the batch at Talora’s apartment, and they hit it off.
Fives is the only one of the 501st to really know the batch before rescuing Echo.
Talora x Fives is made public at the end of the war. Fix-it AU. Palpatine gets eaten by the Zillo Beast or something.
(I hadn’t planned on officially entering @codiyoweek , since I’m not an experienced romance writer, and I also didn’t have a lot of time this January—but Mimi was kind enough to say I could hop aboard for the “Free Day” slot, if I wanted. So, I hope everyone enjoys this short but sweet little piece of family fluff! 😊💜🧡💜🧡 You can also read it on AO3, if you prefer.)
Rating: G
Characters: Cody, Quico (fanbaby), Riyo
Description: Marshal-Commander Cody has never surrendered before. But there’s a first time for everything….
~~~
Cody slinks behind the barrier in the room. His opponent is coming. He lies ready to spring. Good soldiers always prepare for fights like this.
He has been called many things, through his career. Brave. Loyal. Tenacious. A pillar of strength.
He has blown through waves of clankers, perched on crab-droids’ heads and mown them down, punched commandos’ shells with his bare hands.
There is one phrase he has never once uttered, during the war: “I surrender.”
…Cody’s opponent is coming. He must be swift! There will never be a day he gives in. He nearly cartwheels out from his hiding place, arms extended for battle—his hands, curiously bare of their gloves now, curiously splaying, as if to tickle—but his opponent gets to him first, tiny blue hands reaching for his middle.
“YUUUUUHH-hhuuhh-huh-huuuuAAAWWWW!!”
Cody lands on the hotel-room floor, weighed down by a baby half-Pantoran, her arms crawling as mercilessly as buzz-droids upon him. Cody cries helplessly, a little tear of mirth slipping out the corner of one closed eye. Baby Quico’s voice rises just as high in merriment, and her father finally, deliciously, lets the forbidden phrase slip from his lips. He surprises even himself with how sweet it tastes—sighing it out, in an affectionate lilt.
“I surrender!...”
***
Evening comes, and Riyo returns to the hotel room. The Senate session that brought them here to Coruscant is over now, and they’ll be returning to their cozy home on Pantora in the morning. Cody and Riyo had worried little Quico would be scared or fussy, this being one of her first trips off-planet; but they’d agreed that they’d have to start sometime, what with her mommy still being Senator. And with her daddy’s strong clone arms to protect her, how could she be frightened of new surroundings?
The two have apparently spent the whole day romping around this small burgundy room, hiding behind couch-cushions and small tables and surprising each other. Now, though, baby Quico has apparently played herself into an absolute stupor, and lays snoozing on her father’s belly (no doubt full of treats from the refrigerator, judging by the wrappers strewn around them). Cody is sprawled atop the bedspread, feet to the pillows and head hanging upside-down over the soft edge of the mattress.
They’ve been watching cartoons—some cute show about a baby massif and her brother—and Cody is calmly letting their squeaky voices and antics lull him into a similar stupor. Eyes half-closed, and black curls falling slightly downwards with gravity. Quico’s own golden eyes are already tightly shut, and her own purple ringlets flutter ever-so-softly, as she rises and falls with Daddy’s soft breaths.
Riyo raises her blue hand to her lips, trying not to alert them to her presence with the titter. Her heart swells. Her little family is frankly ADORABLE! She finally moves into the picture, her velvet dress-edge trailing quietly against the carpet. Cody’s eyelashes blink blearily, as the glowing little upside-down holovision screen is suddenly blotted out by his wife’s torso.
“Caught sleeping on your post, my brave Commander?” Riyo titters again, but the broadness of her smile reflects her love. She bends over her husband’s head—those huge golden eyes, always so enchanting to him, waking him up long enough to chuckle in return.
Cody sighs richly—a deep trill of enjoyment, as he stares back up at her. But soft, oh so soft—low enough so as not to wake the precious bundle on his midriff. “…I surrender!”
Marshal-Commander Cody’s second surrender is sealed with a kiss, pressed from the air—Riyo bending over him, so that they look like an intertwined pair of candycanes, joined at the lips.
Main Characters: Cody, Riyo Chuchi, Wooley, and OCs (a sister for Riyo and a baby for Riyo and Cody)
Premise/Blurb: To his family, Cody is the sun. (Cody x Riyo)
🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜
Pantora was a rainy planet, but inside Cody and Riyo Chuchi’s house, there was nothing but sunshine. Riyo sat playing on the living-room rug with Quico, the light of their lives. Their baby girl was five years old now, and had hair as curly as Cody’s and as pale-purple as Riyo’s. She was a chubby little thing, much the same round shape at five as she had been as a baby. And her blue skin from Riyo was patched with Cody’s copper-brown around her eyes, nose, hands, feet, and tummy—making her look almost like a little Pantoran panda. Her family had simply never seen a living being half so adorable as her!
Riyo’s sister Ritu sat sewing by the mosaic fireplace. She and Wooley were a part of the family too—the house was designed apartment-style, as neither Riyo nor Cody could stand to let their siblings live all lonely, by themselves. Clones needed their brothers. And Ritu certainly needed Riyo, whom she had ALWAYS seen as her own little one—and now Quico, who was the cherished little one of the whole household! The giggling bundle had all four adults wrapped easily around her chubby fingers, and well she knew it.
She trundled up to Ritu now, watching the older Pantoran weaving her crochet-needle in-and-out of a small, trailing mess of pink. Ritu’s cheek tattoos—similar but not identical to her sister’s—scrunched up to her dimples, as she twinkled with amusement.
“Auntie? Whatcha dooooin’?” Quico sing-sang.
“Sewing,” she fluted back.
“For me?”
“Of course for you, darling!” Who ELSE could a pair of tiny, fluffy pink socks be for?
Riyo tugged her baby girl’s shoulder back onto the rug where they had been playing, and Quico grinned and complied. They were making two plastic toys of prehistoric animals scamper and roar together, but soon gave that up in favor of acting the parts themselves. Riyo grinned excitedly, fell back, squinched her fingers up ready to tickle, and barely could contain her own giggles. “Raaar. RAAARR!” she teased, pouncing on Quico, who then absolutely exploded into giggles of her own, high-pitched and unbridled.
Cody watched them both, sitting calmly on the couch beside them, his chin held propped in both cupped hands. His smile reached from one palm to the other, broad and adoring—his brown eyes and their long lashes blinking slowly, enraptured with love.
Riyo’s own giant golden eyes, and Quico’s matching ones, were both SO round and bright as they played, all full of sparkles to outshine the whole galaxy. Cody simply couldn’t decide which pair looked cuter. He just knew he was Force-blessed, to have both of these girls to call his own.
Scch-WOOTCH! The sound of the sliding front door suddenly interrupted this tranquil moment. Wooley tramped inside, shaking his wet boots, carrying two large bags of groceries. The rain was positively raging behind him, and looked to be turning to slushy snow soon.
“Ack, Wooley! You let the cold in!” Cody coughed, waving his arm as if that would make the door slide shut faster. (He was, alas, not a Jedi, unlike one of his closest other battle-brothers.)
“Sorry, Commander,” Wooley teased, never even bothering to conceal his grin (not even with his fuzzy scarf, which was right there under it—he even seemed to stick his neck out further, as if on purpose).
Quico’s own precious grin had never left her, meanwhile, as she ran up to grab his leg. “Unca Wooley!” she chirped happily. (This finally got the younger clone to set his groceries down, so he could ruffle her purple curls.)
“C’mon, squirt,” he encouraged, indicating the couch near the fire; “Let’s get warm!”
Riyo appeared to share that sentiment, as that really had been a cold blast from outside, and was still dissipating. (Pantoran winters were not to be taken lightly, even at their very beginnings, when autumn slowly ebbed away.) Her velvety maroon nightgown slipped a bit around her midriff, as she got up.
Riyo had never quite gotten her old figure back after carrying Quico, but that was perfectly fine with her husband. Cody always teased (and meant it quite sincerely) that there was simply more of her to hug now. And he was her match in this, after all—though the clone marshal-commander could still wear the top of his chestplate, in fine parade-ground fashion for special occasions, to have put the tighter, lower cummerbund part of his armor on now would have been out of the question. His orange sweater made up for it, though, sporting a cheerful sunburst motif, right where it used to be on said armor. Little Quico thought it looked exactly like a sun, in fact—Daddy’s belly was so round and warm, how could it not be!
Quico loved to snuggle up to Mommy’s soft tummy. She loved to snuggle up to Daddy’s too. It was hard to pick!
Thankfully, as the whole family cuddled down onto the couch with Cody, Quico’s parents ensured she wouldn’t have to choose. Auntie Ritu squeezed herself against Mommy, Uncle Wooley squeezed himself against Daddy, and Mommy and Daddy squeezed themselves together around Quico—pressing their two grown hearts together, oh so warm and tight, while their two bellies framed their daughter like a royal pillow. Quico shrieked with giggles again, from where she lay smooshed. No little girl on all of Pantora had ever been so pampered!
Her little smile deepened, more seriously and even more lovingly than it had before, as she then watched her parents lean into each other, and smooch over her head. Mrrrrrr-RRRRRRR-rrrrrrrr…POP!
Daddy REALLY loved Mommy. He sure knew how to draw out a kiss!
But Quico wouldn’t be left out, and she promptly climbed Cody’s chest (little fingers finding holds in the fuzzy orange fabric), to place her own innocent, daughterly equivalent on his now-closed lips. Squee-POP!
Everyone laughed—Ritu’s birdlike twitter, Wooley’s galloping chuckles, Riyo’s sweet cascades of mirth, and Cody’s rich, rich rumble, a lullaby trill that could always send both Riyo and Quico straight to sleep.
…The cold was nearly all gone, now.
Quico buried her baby-like cheek next to Cody’s, close enough that the corners of their mouths just barely brushed together, tempting more little kisses. Daddy’s cheek felt so warm. It kept her warm!
Auntie Ritu leaned deeper over Mommy’s shoulder. Uncle Wooley cuddled into Daddy’s warm back. Mommy and Daddy, if it were even possible, held each other tighter, pressing their little girl even deeper against their hearts. …Quico had never felt such safety and peace, but of course she had little else to compare it to, for this was what she had been surrounded with her whole life.
The rain continued to patter against the windows, but Quico knew her little family didn’t need sunshine from outside.
Daddy was the sun!
@archivewriter1ont and @aknightreaderr , I hope you don't mind me tagging you here--I just thought you might enjoy this, since the adorable Codiyo fics both of you wrote are directly responsible for dragging me onto the Codiyo canoe! 💖 Also @prettychaos1409 --I know we haven't been properly introduced yet, but I've been told you came UP with said canoe, so I guess I'm a new part-time "crew member!" 😉
Decided to start sharing some of my Spotify playlists with y'all! (Guests can hopefully see the list of songs, even if only other people on Spotify can play them--so hopefully this can at least give some inspiration to everybody.) Please note that these are WIPs, and G-rated suggestions are always welcome (I'm always up to discover new music)! 😊
Click HERE to view Feather's Cody x Riyo Family playlist! (Note: This is designed to be played on shuffle, otherwise the pacing will be weird.)
This is inspired by Cody, Riyo Chuchi, and the rest of their family as they appear in my happy-ending fanwork AU, "Gently Twinkling Stars." Long story short, this is an unrepentant, absolutely-buckets-of-fluff, no-order-66, clones-get-the-long-happy-lives-they-deserve universe. Cody marries Riyo, they have a little girl named Quico, and they also let Cody's brother Wooley and Riyo's OC sister live with them, as one big happy family!
Some of these songs are about their wartime days, others about the shamelessly cute antics these characters get into post-war. This will therefore almost certainly be one of the least-angsty, most-sugary TCW-inspired playlists floating around. But, it still does have some poignant, serious, and action-oriented songs here and there. Anyways, hope you enjoy!
Some standout songs:
"Sunshine on My Shoulders" by John Denver--I think each and every sunshine-related song I knew of ended up on this list, thanks to Cody's sun motif. 😆 But this one is DEFINITELY one of the sweetest! I grew up listening to John Denver, since my mother loved his songs so much herself in the 70's, and would always play them on cassette when we'd drive around in her truck when I was little, in the 90's. Just listen to this one and tell me it doesn't make you feel all warm and sleepy inside (like Cody's hugs and soothing voice certainly would)! 💖
"Promise Me" and "A New Life" from the First Knight soundtrack--did I mention that Cody is the most knight-coded clone in my imagination? I can always imagine medieval AUs with him and Riyo so easily, and these tracks are just perfect for knight!Cody riding along in sun-patterned armor on a horse, Riyo and Quico snuggled beside him, and banners trailing behind them!
"Soldier" by Samantha Jade--thanks to Arkie for introducing me to both this one, and Codiyo in general! It's mostly a very catchy dance tune, but it does have some poignant lines when imagining a clone and his romantic interest during wartime.
"Ocean Waltz" by Braxton Burks (cover of the Pokémon game tune) and "The Royal Waltz" from The Great Race soundtrack--something I only discovered when making these playlists is that Cody is, curiously, just about the only clone that I can imagine waltzing naturally. The others could try, but would have some element of awkwardness or humor mixed in--but Cody? He's just the most perfect, comfortable, elegant gentleman, and imagining him and Riyo dancing together with this music at a Senate ball gave me an odd and lovely joy.
"I'll Fight" by Daughtry--this one is on most of my clone playlists, but in this case it represents Cody looking out for his beloved vod'ika, Wooley. I just love the idea of Cody have a very paternal soft spot for his little shiny protégé, and Wooley staying a part of Cody's family after the war.
"Molten Mine" from the Sonic and the Black Knight soundtrack--I like to include a few action soundtracks on these lists, to represent the clone battalions on their missions. But I was very picky for the 212th, especially Cody--them not always seeming like "the wild ones" as much as the 501st, being more reserved like their Jedi Obi-Wan. This particular track really hit the spot, though, somehow, and fit Cody leading his brothers into battle, to me.
"Invisible," end title from Klaus--I haven't been able to watch this movie, but this song is just so touching! Both because of its spirit and its actual sound, I can imagine it being sung by Riyo, to little Quico and the rest of the family. ❤️
"Father and Daughter" by Paul Simon--Cody being the absolute bestest dad to little Quico. ❤️
"Shower Me With Your Love" by Surface--just a really sweet little love song, that makes me feel all "sunshiny" again. One of those songs where you can really "hear the smile" in the singer's voice, you know? Cody and Riyo's love for each other, and the people around them, is just so warm and soft!
(Tagging the "Codiyo Canoe," in case you guys would like to listen! 🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜 @archivewriter1ont, @aknightreaderr, and @prettychaos1409)
