–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– For the last week now, I've been getting photos of some strange animal on my trailcam. It shows up every night around 3AM and I get one or two low-quality photos. Around the same time, I'd hear sounds outside my cabin. I brushed the strange photos off at first. They were almost too dark to see and usually the creature was blurry enough to pass off as a coyote or a stray dog. As each night passed, the photos became clearer and clearer – the creature becoming less and less natural and more and more... unnerving. It's legs too long, it's body too thin, it's eyes too bright. The sounds grew louder and louder as the nights passed and I swear I heard breathing outside my window. Last night, I finally caught a clear photo of the creature. It faced the trailcam head-on and stood rigid like a statue between the trees. It's eyes were so unnatural. and I swear the... thing... I swear it was smiling at me. No animal can do that – smile like that. What the fuck did I just find?

GORETOBER DAYS 21, 22, 23: SCARS, FROSTBITE, SHOT prompts by @ghost-spectrum​ ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––– Viio lived for quite a while. No one is sure how exactly he lived so long with that much radiation in his body. It had even started to deteriorate him. Cause of death: Radiation poisoning. Ammy was found in the early spring, her body half submerged under the ice. The exposed parts of her had long since decomposed. an eerie sight to find. No one knows how she got there - the report claimed it was an accident. Cause of death: Drowning. And then poor Devin... He was shot on patrol. Wrong place, wrong time. There were always rumors around his death. Some said he got into it with one of the local dog-fighting rings, but nothing was ever confirmed. Cause of death: KIA.
