After the contest, I waited almost three weeks before receiving a message that was saying I had won the forth place. I was very happy because this was a proof that the year that I spent learning programming and computer science by myself was worthy. I cannot express the happiness that I felt that day and how excited I was.
In January 2015, there was a small event at my university to give the prizes to the winners. I won a drone, but I was not excited about this because this was the third drone that I was going to have. I had two drones because of my thesis, and when I knew I had won the drone I was just thinking of selling it. I invited my best friends to the award ceremony, and though it was simple I liked it. I wore my CS50 t-shirt that day because this course gave me the foundations of computer science, and I wanted to say thank you in this way.
What it was a total surprise was that besides me nobody else was in the top 10 form my university, and it was very surprising because I did not study systems engineering. After two weeks, I received a called from the CEO of Devsu, and he was asking me if I was interested in joining the company. I could not believe it at first since that was the opportunity that a was looking for. I agree, but I stablished that I was going to be working just part time because I needed to finish my graduation project, and I was glad they accepted this condition.
So, this was the beginning for me in the software industry, and Devsu seemed a very promising company at least to learn about software development and good practices.
