i finally started watching code geass after about 6 years of procrastinating and i genuinely find it hard to believe that ppl conpare lelouch to light because the resemblance is just not there imo...

LET ME EXPLAIN!!

like, yes theyre both intelligent and they can manipulate others to execute their plans and yes they both have sadistic tendencies but i feel like the resemblance ends there.

for light, everyone is disposable. there is not one person that he genuinely holds dear to his heart and no one, not even his own family, is an exception to that.

meanwhile, its clear from the very beginning that lelouch does not merely think of people as pawns — he values them. to him, people like nunally, shirley, suzaku and kallen are valuable on a deeper level. he fights for them and even if his reason for killing his father is selfish, he still clearly cares about how its affects the people who put their trust in him.

so while lelouch may share some character traits with light, their intentions for doing the things they do are completely different and the stories told through them also convey different ideas about society, systems and people.
