shephard's first speech sounds so much like edgy 14 year old ranting about how "nobody understands" that i was hurting from cringe for a moment

this was my FIRST TIME, believe it or not, playing a cod game. first time ever and it was in 2024.

i played on "recruit" difficulty. yes you're allowed to point and laugh. this was my FIRST TIME i didn't know the controls for the MAJORITY OF THE GAME !! I HAD TO FIGURE THINGS OUT ALONG THE WAY I HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS DOING MOST OF THE TIME !!

game had me feeling like i was looking like this the entire time while playing

the characters were genuinely interesting. end takeaway is that my favourite characters are original (09) Price, Ramirez, and Roach. i'm so sad the latter 2 never appear in another game i'd literally sell my FULL liver to see more from their points of view :((

ROACH DESERVED BETTER. I KNEW WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN TO HIM BUT I'M STILL FUCKING SAD.

again for the difficulty part I GET IT. I PLAYED ON NOOB MODE. BECAUSE I AM ONE. i know realistically no one will comment on this post and no one will comment on that but i KNOW some of yall are thinking it in your heads at least

mfw i can play cod on recruit without some mf yapping about how it's too easy and how stupid i am for not knowing controls:

the story and characters had WAYY more emotion than i expected, they were genuinely human. soap, despite his gruff demeanor, actually cared a shit ton about his teammates and the pure ANGER he had in his voice when he heard they were KIA is immeasurable. he was full of HATRED. it wasn't something he could brush off he was practically having smoke come out of his ears i could hear it

i was on the edge of my seat practically the entire game. i LOVED the dramatic cutscenes and THAT SCENE WHERE ROACH FELL OUT OF THE HELICOPTER?? THAT SCENE WHERE PRICE RECOGNISES SOAP JUST FROM HIS VOICE??

i genuinely felt like i was watching a very intense thought out movie and not playing a first person shooter. this is GOOD.

i hyperfixated on it the entire time i was playing. it was all i could think about AS I WAS GOING TO SLEEP. AS I WAS JUST WAKING UP. "urgh.. need,, to finish,, cod campaign..."
