👂 for Daylan and Kehlani
Kehlani sat cross legged on the floor of her bother’s apartment soaking up the love of the tiny kittens her older brother Cobey had rescued. They weren’t permanent fixtures in the home, just passerby’s like her who needed a temporary place to crash. She kinda sorta wanted to convince them to let her keep one, but with her new tour schedule keeping a tiny creature wasn’t in her cards.
“You can’t tell Blue or Cobey this...” Kehlani started as she mauvered a tiny ball of orange fluff, “But I think Day is the best big brother I got.” She’d tilt her head at the mewing creature that stared at her with wide yellow eyes. “No, he doesn’t count.” She remarked with the shake of her head. It was as if the kitten had made some glaringly obvious statement about her slightly older than her twin. “Day understands, he gets that I’m here for good reasons and hasn’t kept me at such a distance. He’s showing me what it’s like to have one of those families like they got in the movies.”
She laughed a bit as more kittens clamored into her lap, “Well, maybe the family we got is like that one from Lilo and Stitch..” The alien couldn’t help but love the irony. “It’s little and it’s broken, but it’s good:”
