Anyway I love the introduction of coaxium to the Star Wars universe because it’s obviously like, the highest grade of hyperfuel, it’s magic stuff, it’s literally how theFalcon gets around.
Normal hyperfuel (like the stuff the Purrgills are slurping up) probably has different grades of hyperspeed. You’ve got some mediocre stuff that will let you go 10 lightyears in an hour (we WISH we could have that!), higher-grade stuff that can make you go 50 lyph, and the high-grade stuff that pushes you a hundred lightyears in one hour (Alpha Centauri coming up in two minutes, people!). But then there’s Coaxium. That stuff will get you past five hundred lightyears in an hour, easily. You can’t even travel from one planet to another planet in the same system with that stuff, because by the time your hand finishes pushing the lever forward, you’d have passed your target. Put a drop of that in your hyperdrive and you’ll be three systems past whatever system might be hunting you by the time they get the warning that you’re wanted.
It’s what Han uses to fly the Falcon, so of course he’s in debt all the time, but he’s also Jabba’s finest smuggler because of that, because he can cross half the galaxy without having to stop for gas...problem is, his fuel sources are limited and he’s gotta rely on Jabba or other illicit dealers for his supplies.
The Empire uses it in a lot of its best ships, too, but probably only the best and most impressive (the Devastator, for example, probably had the stuff...as did the Death Star, which probably cost enough credits for INSERT WHATEVER YOU CAN IMAGINE HERE AND THEN TRIPLE THAT).
