#cms talks

Alright, I finished CL/RD and translating Ch. 5 & 6 (with the exception of some minor mage editing for a few pages of Ch. 5). I'm hoping to find some time to start typesetting tomorrow evening, but no promises.

I can confirm that Ch. 5 & 6 are going to be a double upload, because Ch. 6 is only 15 pages (and mostly dialogue, at that, which is much faster to TS) and I was able to get through it pretty quickly. Hopefully, this will make up for the long wait between Ch. 3 & 4.

Little mini progress update.

I've started working on Ch. 7 and have finished the initial cleaning. The redrawing for this chapter is a huge pain due to 1) lots of transparent text boxes, which means lots of text over background that I then have to redraw, and 2) the boys having a sex scene, and we all know what that means (sfx hell). That in and of itself is time-consuming, plus, as I mentioned in my Ch. 6 note, I'm currently dealing with some health problems and don't have a ton of energy to spare. I also haven't started translating yet, because my brain isn't working great due to the aforementioned health problems, but I'll try to work on that when I have some clear-headed days. The main takeaway is that I have no timeline or any real idea when the chapter will be done, just that I am working on it.

A quick aside about Ch. 8, even though I haven't even begun to plan when I'll start it: Ch. 8 has nearly 50 pages, so even when its time does come, it's going to take a while for me to get through, because that's a monstrous number for a one-person team (i.e., just me) to get through.

I know it's been a couple months since my last Saiai Nante Yuzurimasen chapter post or progress update, which is because I've been super busy with work and life, and also my health has been less than ideal.

That being said, I did put some time aside this evening and spent a couple hours buckling down and fully translating Ch. 4, and I'm now about halfway done. I'm hoping to finish the last 15-ish pages tomorrow and then move on to typesetting. I can't remember if I have CL/RD left to do, because my process is really incredibly un-streamlined (I do most of my CL/RD on procreate, then export the files onto my computer and finish anything that's too much of a pain to do in procreate in clip studio, which is also what I use to do typesetting).

I don't currently have a masterpost, but I do tag all of my scans under #cms scans (though I'm not sure how well the tag is working rn b/c there isn't a ton of content under it). I do plan on making a masterpost eventually, once I have some time and energy, and there will be a permanent link on my Tumblr page when I do.

I knew that unless I was able to actually follow the trail of the LNB doujin to its conclusion, it would bother me forever, so I dug around until I found a fairly reputable site selling a used copy that I would be able to get shipped internationally, and I placed an order. Because I'm a bit of a pessimist, I was skeptical about the odds of actually receiving a legit copy, but it cost less than $25, including shipping, and that was an amount I was willing to wager. It's been a few weeks, and there hadn't really been any updates on the shipping progress since it left Japan, so I was starting to resign myself to the postal industry eating another hapless package.

Well, guess what arrived today?
