Let's fic rec the hell out of fics...
Title: As You Wish
Summary: Irene Adler was dead. And my friend Sherlock Holmes refused to eat, sleep, speak, or do anything at all besides stand by the window and compose. Until Molly Hooper braved the steps of our flat, bringing the one thing no one thought he needed: a fairytale. Tag and AU for Scandal in Belgravia.
Rating: K+
Pairing: Sherlock Holmes/Molly Hooper
Why: I must admit that at first I got discouraged by the summary because I had suffered enough under the flawed filters of ff.net which became a gateway for imposter slash fics, but after reading some of the reviews, I decided to give it a try. Doing so was a great move because otherwise, I would have missed such a fantastic slash fic. The beauty of this fic was its subtlety. From John's commentary to Molly and Sherlock's interaction, everything was just so simple yet so well described that it's enough to make a strong impact.
Here's an excerpt:
Instead, she reached down, and touched the back of his hand.
His hand moved—turned reflexively.
She slipped her hand into his, as if it fit there. Sherlock's fingers caught through hers—curled around them. And she squeezed.
You know, if a fic gives this kind of attention to something mundane like hand-holding, I think it's worth reading! So give it a try guys!
PS
There is also the added bonus of The Princess Bride as well.
Also, couches and blankets!
