A pick from my home cellar, from one of my favorite producers : #FrédéricEsmonin : this #GevreyChambertin #ClosPrieur 2009, where the vines are 50-60+ years old, and the wines have a proven ability to age. But since these vineyard are located at the base of the Gevrey-Chambertin Grand Cru hill, Clos Prieur wines are significantly lighter and less concentrated, brighter, lovely and silky, full of red fruits and generally balanced. This 2009 is perfumed, quite floral, very fragrant, with fresh, red cherries, raspberries and red currants, apple skin, forest floor, berry leaf, with medium (+) acid, medium tannin, medium alcohol, medium body, medium finish, crunchy character, structured, balanced and with good acid structure, from a warmer vintage, developing.
