Trixie struggled to contain her laughter as she was dragged along by the wrist towards a random lunch table. Everything about this place seemed foreign and terrifying - honestly, what type of a school allowed students to eat outside and wander school grounds during lunch break? It was all a brand new concept to her, and though she couldnât say she minded the break from people staring at her inside the stuffy high school building, Trixie couldnât help herself from being annoyed at how she felt her hair already begin to frizz.Â
âFarrah, where are we going? I donât know anybody here,â Trixie struggled not to trip over her own heels. Her newfound friend, Farrah, was much too strong and quick for her tiny body, and Trixie found herself having trouble keeping up with her as they weaved between lunch tables towards and undeterminable destination. âWe havenât even gotten our lunch tra- Hey!â Leaping forward in surprise, Trixie recoiled from the feeling of a hand grasping at her backside. She turned, finally stopping Farrah in her tracks, to try to figure out what rascal had had the audacity to touch her there, only to be met with the sights and sounds of a whole table of boys and girls clad in leather howling with laughter - if they werenât cat-calling, of course. Trixie blinked rapidly in annoyance before huffing and turning back around, walking closer to Farrah now.
âAlmost everybody at this school is a baboon. Thatâs the second time today somebody has done something inappropriate! I donât look promiscuous, do I?â Trixie ran a hand over the front of her bubblegum coloured poodle skirt with one hand, bringing the other to fiddle with the ends of her hair, pulling them over her chest. She barely registered Farrah responding with something along the lines of âStop worrying, you look like a proper ladyâ, her focus now on the only group they could possibly be heading towards - there was a small gathering of girls smattered around a tree, each wearing jackets that matched with Farrahâs. Were these Farrahâs friends? A few of them looked sketchy, most notably the three that were leaned up against the tree, some form of cigarette or drug being shared between them. Trixie wrinkled her nose. Smoking was never something sheâd tried (mainly because her mother would get her shipped off to another catholic school quicker than she could apply lipstick), and though it wasnât disgusting, it was something that sheâd never found appealing. However, she had to admit that the girls made it seem cool, in a way.
Trixie jumped a little at the feeling of Farrah nudging her in the side. Raising her eyebrows and shaking her head, curls bouncing around her shoulders, Trixie shook herself out of her thoughts enough to realize that they were much closer, now standing - well, Farrah was in the process of sitting - in front of the three girls and next to one other. âOh, um,â clearing her throat awkwardly, Trixie sat with her legs folded under her and smoothed her skirt out over her knees. She was hyper aware of these girlsâ eyes boring into her. Of course, thatâd been all day; everybody loved to stare at the new girl with the weird midwestern accent and bright pink lipstick. âNice to meet you girls! Iâm Trixie.â Trixie extended her hand, hoping at least one of them would take it and diffuse her anxiety about the whole situation at least a little.
