i feel like imogen is more outwardly affectionate. not that clare doesn’t wear how she feels on her sleeve, but imogen does more small things, like photo collages of clare, or making jewelry bc she was bored. like just tiny things.

i feel like clare would be tired of imogen’s childish shenanigans bc clare is more mature but also the type that wants everyone to know how mature she is, and imogen is such a little kid. i feel like they argue about how imogen is just skating by life with no clear-set-goal in mind.

clare actually helped tutor imogen so she could graduate with the class.

after clare ends things with eli, she’s super depressed but imogen is the only one who can make her laugh. i mean silly dorky stuff like she makes clare wear rain boots (i mean big yellow ones like kids have) and they go out dancing like dorks in the rain

clare is the first one to kiss imogen, and imogen is confused. she was sure clare was a big old hetro but come on. her massive girl crushes on jenna and katie and even zoe beg to differ. it takes them some time after the kiss to get together, but their first official kiss as a couple is initiated by imogen

clare and imogen go to visit imogen’s father every sunday. they play games with him and try and keep his mind as sharp as it can be.

when they do get married, imogen and clare talk about adopting. since clare’s scared about loosing another baby. and they adopt twins. two girls.

clare had a cancer scare (she didn’t have it) and she was worried about being bald and so imogen drew her a picture of her with no hair and said “no matter what your the most beautiful women i’ve ever met”

clare runs her own indepenent interent paper from home to stay with the girls, and imogen is an art teacher at the univeresity. imogen comes home and clare is classic house wife with dinner on the table, and they talk about their day.

who holds the umbrella when it rains: imogen, obviously. sometimes (mostly all the time, lbr) she forces clare to do the shirley temple number “walk in the rain” bc she threatens to hog the umbrella and take off.

who is the grumpiest in the morning: surprisingly clare. she’s not a morning person, while imogen is. clare needs to have a half hour to read the paper, or do the crossword and drink tea before she’s ready to socialize with anyone.

who worries more when the other is sick/hurt: imogen. while clare comes pretty close because she’s a doting-motherly type, imogen wins because it stems back to her dad. she’s the one who makes sure the vitamins and medicine is taken, and she waits on clare when she’s sick hand and foot bc it takes force to make clare edwards slow down.

who plays pranks on the other: they both do this, but imogen usually wins. her most infamous pranks are usually childish and go against clare’s ocd organization skills - but her all time favorite was during her senior year on april fools, imogen put a confetti machine in clare’s locker and the girl basically fell to the floor in fright when it exploded at her.

who is always the first to suggest cuddling on the sofa: clare is. imogen is like a koala bear, of course, but clare is a couch potato and is always eager to get back to it after meals and whatnot, and loves having imogen snuggling by her when they read together. it’s where she feels most content.

who insists on creating nicknames for the other: imogen of course! clare isn’t all that creative outside of imogen’s given nicknames, but imogen’s changes daily for clare so she’s kept on her toes.

who drools on the other when they’re asleep: imogen. she’s like a baby, but clare doesn’t mind.

who says ‘I love you’ first: so this will come as a surprise, considering imogen wears her heart on her sleeve, but there is something about those three little worlds that scares imogen stiff to say, and when clare did say it first, imogen cried bc no one outside of her dad had ever made her feel so genuinely loved and that was basically how imogen said it back to clare.
