it's been a long time since i've done this. turns out russians don't care if you were in therapy before they captured you. anyways, that's not the point of this. this is the first entry of a new book, the other one is lost in moving boxes somewhere. life has changed ... a lot. my family of two has been upgraded to a family of five and maybe that's why i felt the need to return to writing today, because life is so ... upside down. not just because most people i see think they're seeing a ghost at first but because i worry about pushing boundaries with the boys, especially will. in some ways it's almost like when i first took jane in again, except i have a better grip on my emotions. with jonathan it's a little easier... he's practically grown ā they're all practically grown at this point. but, i've been watching joy raise these boys on her own since i got back from the war, even when their father was in the picture, it's not like he was their dad ... and i worry it's too late to really try and build a family of sorts even if it does feel like all our jagged pieces fit together. will's different. not in a bad way, no, never. different in the jane kind of way. a way i will never fully understand but will always try my hardest to. feels like i'm always saying the same thing over and over that i want to be and i want to do what's best for them. for all four of them. maybe i repeat it over and over because i'm the one who needs to be convinced . i just need to rip the bandaid off. maybe i can convince will to go to lunch sometime this week, maybe pick up some new art supplies while we're out.
