Luz blinked, hardly wanting to believe what she was seeing. She hadn’t seen King the entire time she’d been in Spirale, and the last time she’d seen him... he’d let go of her hand, and...
But there he was, in front of her. Tears were already welling in her eyes as she dashed forward. “King!” she called out, scooping him up in her arms and skidding to a stop as she holds him tight.
“Oh, I’m so glad to see you. I’m so, so happy to see you, oh my gosh.”
“Alright, King! Let’s see what we’ve got here…” Luz held King’s hand as they walked into the amusement park on the Boardwalk in Golden, excitedly looking from attraction to attraction. “Oooh! Oh, they’ve got some roller coasters, oh and that ferris wheel looks awesome! Ah, and there’s even a haunted house ride, and a spinny cup ride…” Honestly, there were more rides than they’d probably be able to go on.
She grinned, and then easily lifted King to sit on her shoulders, so he could see above the crowd. “So! What do you think? Which ride should we do first, bud?”
