This brings you peace, doesn’t it? To be out in the middle of nowhere with wild things hiding behind bramble and dried leaves. Run far enough and you believe that the memories cannot touch you. Fingers curl around the curve of a mug - tea that had been sitting for far too long as her mind wandered. Outside of the window, faded and dirty, Maryam caught a glimpse of something. “When have I don anything stupid?” Decker was not the sort of person to do anything ‘stupid’ all that often. (He was usually the person in the relationship that kept others from doing stupid things). Lips curled up at the corner of his lips despite the words, head tilted as he glanced back toward the other wolf. “Are you worried about me?” There was a chance that he was simply deflecting Dakota’s concern with a joke.

Decker gave a small pause as he seemed to process the words. An unidentifiable expression flashed across his features before it settled in a half-hearted smile. Reaching out, he curled his fingers into the material of the back of Dakota’s shirt to drag him closer. He huffed out a quiet, almost relaxed noise as he rested their foreheads together. “And yet I’m the one protecting you more than usual,” he teased with a lazy grin. The fact that someone wanted to protect him made an uncomfortable mix of emotions press against his chest. He tried to ignore that, though, and simply focused on the warm feeling that it brought with, as well. / @clawstm

It was hard to say when he had actually become more open and affectionate with Dakota. The process seemed a lot quicker than anyone, even Decker himself, would have expected. A soft noise escaped him as he nuzzled against the crook of the other wolf’s neck with a soft sigh. He could feel the way that his body had already began to relax just from the smell of Dakota alone. (But he always did have a weird thing about his loved ones scents, didn’t he?) The sound of the chatter on the TV was drowned out by the sound of Dakota’s breathing and heartbeat. Another soft noise came from the back of the older wolf’s throat before he turned his head to press a soft kiss against his lover’s shoulder.

Sprawled out in bed underneath a mess of blankets, Decker allowed himself to stretch before he settled at his boyfriend’s side. His fingers went back to how they were stroking through dark curls just a moment before. Expression was soft and sleepy and his smile was fond. It felt nice to be able to sleep in and simply stay in bed for the majority of the day with Dakota. He had a habit of always waking up at an ungodly hour and never being able to fall back asleep. Something that had slowly stopped the more nights he spent with Dakota.

Decker had always been rather simple in the romance department. Things like dates and obnoxious displays of affection or his own relationship were never something that he was interested in. He liked being around his significant other, mostly. It did not matter what they did or where they were - Quality time always seemed to be one of his focues in a relationship. But he always enjoyed it when Dakota tried to be sweet and romantic. It made him feel almost normal. Like he could have an actual, regular life where his boyfriend tried to be romantic and surprise him.
One hand cupped the side of the other wolf’s face before he pulled away from the kiss. “You do nice stuff for me,” he murmured with a lazy smile. He leaned in for another kiss and pressed closer - More or less invading Dakota’s personal space even more.
