Hoppy New Year: Clawed frogs are well-known as aquarium pets (Hymenochirus), lab animals (Xenopus), and trypophobia triggers (Pipa). They spend most of their lives in water, but can move on land to migrate to new water sources.

i would like to introduce you all to my newly rescued pet: chicken wing the albino clawed frog
Gertrude.
This little fellow is a Cape platanna clawed frog [Xenopus gilli] a Pipidae species endemic to South Africa. Frogs of the family Pipidae are primitive and lack tongues. 41 Pipidae species are currently known, with 38 occurring in South America, and 3 occurring in sub-Saharan Africa. Images by John Measey.
