Different person here, but I wanted to comment: I feel for you, but I think until you actually don’t get a job or get the shaft on your medical insurance because you’re thin, you really haven’t suffered real discrimination.
That's really sad and ignorant that people will actually do that. I remember reading about how overweight patients are chalked up as lazy and their problems are often seriously misdiagnosed. And how American Apparel will not hire any overweight staff. I completely understand what you're saying.
However, as it turns out, I have been turned down based on my weight. I wanted to work at one of the boardwalk bars in Atlantic City, and I was turned down because I "wasn't projecting the right image" in a bikini. They told me they were looking for "healthy looking girls".
