I woke up to my alarm blaring in my ear. Damn I fell asleep in my jeans. My legs felt restricted as I rolled off my bed and slammed on the ground.
“Ouch,” I groaned rubbing my forehead. I checked my phone and saw that it was ten til seven. “Really? I’m going to be late.”
I quickly shimmied out of my jeans and shirt, throwing on something different. I smelled the hoodie I slept in and shrugged, putting it back on.
My phone started blowing up on my night stand. I dragged my body over to it and leaned my drowsy self against my bed frame and check it. Four messages from Yoorim.
From: Yoo
Hey cutie!
Where are you?
I got us tickets to see a movie!!
Wanna go?
From: Me
I’m heading out now. I slept late.
Sure let’s talk more when I get there ;)
I closed my messages and grabbed my bag heading down stairs to the front door. I was almost there when my grandma came from the living room.
“Don’t skip again today,” she told me, her high pitched voice automatically getting on my nerves. I stopped and turned to look at her.
“What are you going to do?” I challenged. She stayed silent. “I’ll ‘try’ not to skip,” I put a sarcastic emphasis on try. “I’m late,” I ended. Turning back around and out the door.
The house is honestly not that far from the school. However, I was already going to be late so I sped walked. A normal ten minute walk turned into a five minute walk. As soon as I walked it and into the commons area, Yoorim dragged me to a seat at her table with everyone else.
“So I got us tickets to see that new rom com that just came out. Are you interested?” She spoke with sparkly eyes.
“Are you kidding? I would LOVE to!” I said grabbing her hands and holding them to my chest. She blushed. “How did you know I liked romantic comedies?” I asked and she nervously smiled.
“Just a hunch,” I laughed. “The movies starts at nine, but before I wanted to do a girls day out.” She purposed is a quiet voice.
“Sounds good to me. What did you have planned?” Her eyes lit up.
“I’m so glad you said yes! I already bought everything. I schedule at four a massage at the mall, along with a manicure and pedicure at 5:30. After that I thought we would be hungry so what do you think about a fast food place? I know this really good burger place,” She rambled what our plans would be.
Good thing she’s a loud talker. The whole table was loud with chatter. She placed a hand on my knee and messaged it. “Did you get home safe?” I looked over a Haechan briefly. We connected eyes for a split second and I looked away.
“Yeah. As soon as I got home I passed out. I must have been exhausted because I slept in,” I chuckled. Our conversation was cut short by the bell ringing, signifying that first period would start soon.
When I made it to my classroom, the teacher pulled me to the side to speak. “Miss. Minki, it’s been brought to my attention that you were not present in your afternoon classes. Coincidentally, there was another group of persons that also were not present. Do you know anything about that?” His hard stare spiked my heart rate. I shook my head.
“No sir, I do not. I was experiencing stomach pain, so I excused myself,” I finished and he tsked.
“Very well then,” he paused and silence filled the space between us. “Go sit down. Class will be starting,” he finished and turned to his desk. The rest of my morning passed and soon it was fourth period. Chemistry.
“You didn’t have to hide it,” Haechan spoke softly. I turned my head to him and lifted my eyebrow. “You could’ve told Yoorim I mean.”
“It felt like something personal,” I whispered. “I didn’t think it was something I could freely talk about.” He nodded. I looked down at his hands and reached over to them, touching them slightly. “How do they feel? Any pain?” I asked and he chuckled.
“This isn’t the first time I have gotten in a fight. You don’t need to worry,” I nodded.

The rest of the days was relatively quiet. After school Yoorim raced up to me and intertwined her hand with mine. Mark and Haechan followed behind her.
“Let’s get ready at my house,” She chirped as she swung our arms back and forth. I laughed and nodded.
“Lead the way,” I laughed.
A black car pulled up and out popped a buff man who seemed to be in his thirties. “Hi Ron,” Yoorim spoke as she dragged me to the car. “My friend Minki will be coming home with us. We have a girls date planned,” she smiled rose tenting her cheeks.
After everyone got in I leaned over to whisper to Yoorim. “I would’ve thought we were being kidnapped if you didn’t talk so casually to the buff guy,” Yoorim laughed and Haechan and Mark looked over to us whispering to each other. Haechan’s eyes lingered longer than they should’ve.
“He’s just our body guard,” she spoke casually and I stared at her. “Our dad is a big business owner,” she explained and I nodded. The ride was short and we soon reached their house.
It was a nice three story building. The outside was decorated is clean white marble. I sighed. I miss this. Coming home to a nice house. Even if I was alone.
I was snapped out of my thoughts when Yoorim ushered me into their home. She called out to their mother that they were home. My eyes took in the inside of the beautiful home.
“Welcome home kids,” a soothing voice welcomed us. From the kitchen came a beautiful woman in a pretty pink apron. Her eyes were big and bright, something she definitely passed on to both of her kids.
“Hey mom, this is Minki, we’re going to the movies,” Yoorim quickly said before trying to book up the stairs.
“Yoorim get your ass back in here,” Mark and Haechan snickered. Yoorim stopped and slowly walked back down the stairs. “What’s your grade in math,” the beautiful woman crossed her smooth pale arms across her chest. Yoorim mumbled something. “Huh? Speak up.”
“A d,” Yoorim grumbled and her mother nodded.
“That’s what I thought. Didn’t I say you couldn’t go out anywhere until you brought your math grade up?” Her mother spoke firmly. Mark and Haechan’s snickers got louder and the woman snapped her head towards them, a vain popping out on her forehead. “Shut your traps!” They immediately closed their mouths.
Yoorim groaned as she handed me the movie tickets. The walked up the stairs grumbling with each step she took. I looked at the tickets. “What should I do with these?”
Mark looked at his mother and they both smirked. “Why don’t you and Haechan go?” Mark suggested. Haechan snapped his head to the older boy. “What? You don’t want the tickets to go to waste,” he spoke. “and besides, Haechan loves rom coms.”
“WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT!?” Haechan whined. “THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO STAY BETWEEN US,” Mark doubled over in laugher.
“Oh shut up,” he said between laughs. “You know you wanted to watch that stupid movie.”
“It’s not stupid,” Haechan grumbled and I laughed at the two.
“Well, do you wanna go with me?” I asked him. His eyes darted around before he sighed.
“Gosh, if you’re going to beg me fine I’ll go,” I just laughed. The time was almost four and Yoorim did have that massage already scheduled along with that manicure and pedicure. This was going to be fun.
-
We got a ride from Ron to the mall where everything was to happen. After we walked in I stopped and turned to Haechan.
“I have no idea where anything is,” I deadpanned and he laughed, shaking his head.
“Fine, follow me.” He started to walk off and I ran towards him quickly grabbing his hand, holding it tightly. The mall was crowded for a Friday evening. He looked down at me with wide eyes. I could see the curiosity behind them. The questioning, but he held from asking. He just continued to hold my hand.
We reached the massage place and he groaned. “Do we really have to go here?” I nodded.
“Yep, and after this we’re getting our nails done,” I teased him. We walked in and I told the person at the counter that we had a reservation under Yoorim. He nodded and brought us over to two chairs. I looked down and realized that I was still holding Haechan’s hand. I quickly let go and sat in one of the chairs.
We waited for a while before two people came up behind us. The whole section went by quickly. I practically fell asleep to the neck and back massage they gave. It wasn’t one of those extravagant places where you would go into another room, so it was a quick session. Only and neck and back massage.
“Minki were you drooling?” Haechan teased as I quickly wiped my mouth, noticing that I hadn’t. I slapped his shoulder and he grabbed it as if I shot him. “This way to my hell,” he said and I followed next to him grabbing his hand, making sure I wouldn’t get lost.
The nail salon wasn’t to far from where we left. We walked in an I repeated what I told the other place. We were sat down in two seats where they told us to put our feet in the water and that they would be with us shortly.
“Have you ever got a pedicure?” I asked and Haechan shook his head. “You’re in for a treat, I hope you’re not ticklish.” He gulped before the people that would be giving us our pedicures came and sat in front of us, getting us ready.
Almost as soon as they touch Haechan’s feet he screamed. I reached my arm between us and slapped his chest. He kept wiggling while the cleaned his feet. When they put lotion on his calves to massage it he winched as they messaged the knots out it.
“Quit whining like a baby,” I sighed as my calves were massaged. I rolled my head back and closed my eyes, enjoying the massage. I hadn’t heard Haechan for a while so I opened to eyes to check on him. He was just staring at me. “What?”
He blushed and quickly looked away shuddering out a nothing.
“What color do you want for your toe nails?” The man that was at my feet asked me and Haechan.
“Do I have to get them painted?” Haechan asked me.
“No, but we should do matching nails,” I laughed and he nodded his head.
“Sure,” he said and I looked at him.
“Wait are you for real?” I asked and he nodded. I smirked and turn towards the male. “We will do your hottest pink,” Haechan was quick to argue but I held my hand up. “You said yes,” I reminded him and he sighed. After they painted our toes we hobbled to the table to get our nails painted, careful not to mess up our toes.
“Can I get baby pink almond acrylic?” I asked the female who nodded and started getting things together.
“What the hell language is that?” Haechan whispered to me.
“Shut up and pick a color,” I said.
“Wait, I have to get my nails painted too??” He gasped and whined.
“Just do black, I think they would look good,” I spoke as the lady grabbed my hand it started doing her magic. She clipped my nails and started to apply the acrylic. I glanced over at Haechan and saw him intently staring at his hands as the woman in front of him painted his nails black.
After our toes and hands had dried, we put our shoes back on and walked out of the salon.
“I like this,” I gasped.
“THE Haechan likes his nails being painted?” I over exaggerated.
“No, I like them painted black,” he defended.
“Awe, our Haechan is going bad boy.”
“I was already a bad boy,” Haechan rolled his eyes and crossed his arms.
“No way. You’re like a soft bad boy what do you mean bad boy?” I laughed and held his arm. “Anyways the movie should be starting soon. Do you really like romcoms?” A blush rose to his cheeks.
“Yeah,” he mumbled, embarrassed.
“I think that’s cute,” I told him and leaned my head against his shoulder. “Rom coms are awesome.”
“We’re gonna miss it if we keep walking this slow,” he slipped my arm off his arm and intertwined our fingers, pulling us towards the theater.
After we handed our tickets to the worker in the ticket booth, we lined up. It was really crowded so I held close onto Haechan’s arm.
“Sorry,” I mumbled to him. He looked at me and raised his eyebrow.
“For what?” He asked and rubbed his thumb over my knuckles.
“For being so clingy today, it’s just, it’s just really crowded,” I sighed and tried to calm my breathing, trying to bring up the courage to talk to him more about it. He stopped me.
“I don’t mind. Tell me when you’re ready,” he finished and laid his head on top of mine.
In no time we made in into the theater and to a fairly decent pair of seats. Not too far from the screen but not too close. Throughout the whole movie we never let go of each others hand.
-
“That was such a good movie,” I laughed as I wiped some of the tears that came out at the end of the movie off of my face.
“Wow you were crying over that? How weak,” he laughed as I slapped his shoulder.
“Don’t pretend you weren’t crying either, I heard you!” I pointed an accusing finger at him. At the same moment our stomachs growled. “Oh yeah, we were supposed to eat before watching the movie,” he nodded.
“Do you think that place is still open?” I shrugged my shoulders. I pulled my phone out and looked on the web. He rested his head over my should and looked at my phone. My fingers paused momentarily as I felt his warm breath against my cheek, my pulse racing. I quickly snapped out of it.
“It says it closes in an hour,” I spoke. He lifted his head off on my shoulder almost hesitantly. He flashed me a smile.
“Well we better hurry then huh,” I followed behind him.
