EASA Class 1 Renewal: What Every Commercial Pilot Needs to Know
If your EASA Class 1 renewal is coming up, there are a few things to get sorted before your appointment day. Missing any of them could mean your appointment cannot go ahead.
Before you arrive, you need to submit your EASA Medical Application Form online, complete the EASA Mini Mental Health Questionnaire, and wait for your final documents to arrive by email. None of it takes long, but it all needs to be done in advance.
The renewal itself follows four simple steps. You book online, attend your assessment with an experienced AME, the AME submits your results directly to the CAA, and your renewed certificate comes back to you.
One thing worth knowing is the 45-day rule. You are allowed to renew your EASA Class 1 medical up to 45 days before it expires, and you keep every day of your existing validity when you do it within that window. So there is no benefit to waiting until the last week.
Both clinics are located directly at Manchester Airport and Liverpool John Lennon Airport, with free parking and a quick, straightforward process from start to finish.
