Yesterday. Yes, yesterday. Yesterday when everything was okay. Before the storms of emotions and tidal waves of fears came crashing into reality.
Existential feeling, like wishing you were somewhere else, did not come up yesterday. It was the perfect crisp feeling to the day, nothing that any of the English language could possibly properly perpetuate in the most honest sense. It’s just a day. A day in the warm sun, away from all that today would bring. Because who would want it the normal way, hurricane then rainbow, when you could have it rainbow then hurricane?
Some just hours before, minutes, seconds, everything was okay. Everything was a calm. We were an untouched river hidden away in the deep, undiscovered forest. We were a storm waiting to happen, a ticking bomb, a fuse shrinking to the TNT. We were going to explode. Why did it have to be now?
Thoughts of us help me make it through the storm. It feels like forever. Isn’t it funny how everything was fine? How you told me you loved me, you told me you cared, and then you told me to leave, as if you weren’t the one leaving me.
Even when you tear my heart – prying my happiness away – I don’t know what else to do but love you.
Run. I should’ve run. Why did I have to stay? Why you let me fall, if you weren’t going to catch me?
Don’t go, yesterday. Come back. Take me back to when everything was okay. Please. Let me stay in false allude of love for just one moment.
