I think this concert is actually an exchange... an exchange of worlds. experiences. music. in the first part, Therion was invited to experience the world of a theater orchestra. they played pieces the orchestra is used to, from classics like Verdi, Wagner and such. even the audience behaved as if they were in theater, more or less. but then in the second part... all hell broke loose, in the best way possible. Therion invited the orchestra into their world and experience, and the audience went wild, too. when you watch them, you can see on many faces in the orchestra that it's new to them, an audience gone wild, but they also find it fascinating. and this free and open and inviting exchange of these experiences is beyond priceless, and beyond beautiful

Secret Sphere was neither better nor worse at what they did than Rhapsody, but the latter had Luca Turilli and Fabio Lione, and that was enough to propel their band to greater international acclaim even though both groups were playing almost exactly the same kind of neo-classical progressive power metal at the same time and from the same country.  All things equal, “Stranger in Black” could’ve easily fit on Rhapsody (of Fire)’s Triumph or Agony, or on any Rhapsody record, for that matter: Roberto Messina’s vocals aimed for the rafters while the guitars and keyboards dueled over which instrument could shred faster.  Perhaps the track was a shade heavier than usual for this kind of metal, but the shirts remained as frilly as ever.  And Secret Sphere has remained true to their core sound despite weathering the requisite number of lineup changes, carrying on longer and more steadily than most of their counterparts, including that other Italian act.
