(Modern!Sonic wrecks Classic!Sonic — Tickle Fic)

There were very few things in the multiverse that Modern Sonic enjoyed more than a good race.

But this?

This was better.

“C’mon shortstack, you were talking a big game a second ago~” Sonic cooed, striding slowly toward Classic Sonic with a wiggly-fingered grin. “What happened to ‘I’m the fastest thing alive’?”

Classic Sonic, standing on the couch with puffed-up cheeks and arms folded, shook his head furiously. His foot stomped once. A tiny, silent “hmph!”

“Ohh, don’t give me attitude now~” Sonic teased, flashing around the couch and appearing right behind him. “You squeaked when I poked your side earlier. That means you activated the game, little dude.”

Classic Sonic’s ears twitched.

He looked left. He looked right.

Too late.

Sonic pounced.

“GOTCHA!!”

“MMMPHH—!!”

What followed could only be described as giggle chaos. Classic Sonic kicked and wriggled like a cornered Looney Tune, curled into a ball as his older counterpart dug in with the most merciless scribbly fingers imaginable.

“Aw, man, your laugh is SO CUTE! What’s this? Pbbffft— is that a snort I just heard??” Classic Sonic shook his head rapidly, face beet red.

“Still no talking, huh? That’s okay — I’ll just have to read your laugh like subtitles~” “PFFTH—!! HEHEH-HMMMPHH!!” (translation: STAAHAP!!)

Sonic poked his belly, which made him jerk so hard he bonked the pillow. “Ohh this is so getting added to my mental list: ‘Classic Sonic’s Top 5 Weak Spots.’ Belly’s #1~”

He tried going under his arms.

Classic arched with a squeaky wheeze, legs kicking like he was running in the air.

“Oooh, sensitive there too, huh? Gotcha, little guy~” Sonic cackled, now full-on straddling him to keep him from rolling away.

Classic Sonic pawed at his hands. Muffled giggles escaped between pressed lips. His tail was flicking wildly. He was so doomed.

Eventually, Sonic eased off — plopping beside the giggly bean who now lay limp across the couch, panting and hiccuping.

“Had enough?” he asked casually, nudging Classic’s nose.

Classic glared weakly, but there was a soft pink blush of trust behind his eyes.

“…Heh. That’s what I thought.” Sonic ruffled his spikes fondly. “You’re lucky I like you, ya little speedster.”

Classic Sonic wobbled upright… and promptly dove into Sonic’s side with a silent revenge poke.

Sonic yelped. “WH—HEY!!” Classic just grinned.

“…Oh you’re on.”

Classic Sonic... however...

That last one was my first one. :)

So I was thinking about how real hedgehogs ball up by tucking their feet in and partially pulling their spiked skin over their bellies with their muscles and how that would apply to Sonic.

I realised very quickly that the ganglier the Sonic, the less it would be possible to ball up without the implication of some body-horror level anatomy breaking.

So this is how I would imagine Sonic in a ball state.

-Modern: spunky and a little too reckless

-Classic: baby bro

-Boom: tired older brother vibes
