The Class Converse - An Investigative Hypothesis
This is an idea that I've been sitting on and mulling over for some time. I wrote it all out as a submission to Dahni (http://dahniwitchoflight.tumblr.com/) and I'm posting it here for posterity and for input from other sources as well. Let me know what perspectives or responses you have to this concept.
Whereas inversions of classpect and their importance/risk to one another is well investigated, I have pondered the significance of whether a state of repression or displacement could lead one to pursue the goals and methods of their active-passive converse. ie: A Knight denying their ability so vehemently that they convert their mindset and strive to behave as a Page in hopes of gaining skills (despite their pre-existence); or a Sylph who disavows her own opinions so intensely that she switches gears to try and follow the path of a Maid, trying to find her aspect from inside of her since she doesn't feel she is at all suited to raise it up outside of her.
This repressive mindset can condemn the self's abilities to drive and become action (for active classes) or inspire and embrace action (for passive classes). And it drives them to their active-passive opposite rather than to their inverted class-type. In a way, one might say that a person might remain faithful to the kind of effect they want on reality, but may have a total failing in their in-borne METHOD of accomplishing it.
I ponder the possibility of this mode of "conversion" because I have seen Sylphs behave like Maids and I've been accused more than once of being a Knight who claims to be a Page. What do you think?
