Berlin Nikolassee 1986 por std70040 Por Flickr: An LR-improved version of the original post, and re-booted. An S-bahn line S3 train arrives at Nikolassee, in what was then West Berlin. This is a class 475, originally 165, dating from the 1930s. The destination is Friedrichstrasse, in the East, though if you wanted to leave the station you had to pass through a border control point. These trains sounded absolutely fantastic - as good as London's CO/CP stock. Thus they are/were my joint favourite EMU. :-) 1986.
