Sinestro rolled over again and covered his head with Hal’s pillow, curling up. This must have been the pits of Tartarus; Sinestro had died and gone to the afterlife where he was being tormented for his sins. okay picture this: ringless hobo sinestro just got overthrown by Soranik and the Sinestro Corps, so, injured and afraid, he flees to earth to be hidden under hal's protection because that is, he figures, the last place anyone would look for him. initially, sinestro dismisses clark as hal's "current fling of the week" but he slowly gains respect for clark and his relationship with hal (and it helps that long, long ago clark had acared for exile!sinestro once before, which is a scenario Blue and I have come up with that is maaaybe canon to this au?). anyway, at some point while hal is in deep space on a mission, sinestro has a really bad flare up of his chronic pain, and clark offers to massage him and things...escalate. (clarkhal have an open relationship becasue the JL as a whole is casually polyamorous btw)

honestly, this pitch makes a lot more sense when u see it in execution because it's like. clark is self aware enough to know this is a shitty deal on his end because his lover (hal) still has feelings for his ex (sinestro), but because of Baggage TM, neither hal nor sinestro are resolving their issues anytime soon, and it shouldn't have to be clark doing the emotional labor of getting them back together, but he's doing it anyway because he's come to care for both of them. and like, how could he not fall in love with who his lover loves? plus he's getting awesome sex out of it so-

also i really love this weird messy dynamic of polyamory negotiations where the supposed "hinge" (hal) is not the actual hinge of the romantic relationship because he and sinestro need to get their shit together before anything happens between them two
