Bessmetten Clan Lore - Riot of Rot
In the days leading up to the Riot of Rot the dragons of Bessmetten come up from their tunnels, close them up along with the clan gates and prepare plenty of live prey so that they can well, riot. The week of the Riot is when Aradia encourages her dragons to turn off their higher brain functions and give in to their Plaguebringer inspired blood lust.
There is a slight problem however, only about forty percent of the clan is Plague-born and most of them were born there. Many non-Plague dragons don’t feel the same murderous rush as their comrades and children, the first Riot of Rot for these parents is often a terrifying experience.
By the end of the Riot the clan grounds are often strewn with blood, bones and other body parts from the prey they spent the week chasing. Many dragons will need to see a healer afterward for scratches and bites but usually nothing too serious happens.
On the final night of the Riot when everyone is starting to calm Aradia brings the clan together to hold a ceremony to praise the Plaguebringer, building a shrine out of the debris of their clan wide murder spree that they then burn to signify the new year.
