Anthy Himemiya. Of course I had to paint roses even if they are a bit too blobby for me today. Revolutionary Girl Utena was probably one of those shows that would trigger plenty of emotions and/or reactions. They were long limbed characters hahaha. So far from chibi. I'm debating with myself if I should ink this or not so I'll leave Akira Touya like this first. So yeah, hello to Akira Touya of Hikaru no Go! This guy is so happy just to play a good game of go but of course, he'd love it better if you could give him a good challenge. @priichanpanda shared some tips with me because I wasn't able to attend @chichilittle's class. I still have ways to go but I do like how this turned out. To make his hair I mixed Daniel Smith serpentine and White Nights turquoise. I'm pretty sure that aside from me and my sister, not so many would remember this character unless you were tuned on to a certain channel when you were growing up. Super Boink or Tonde Burin, is a super hero pig but in human form she's a regular girl. The amusing thing in the series is that the girl has a crush on the guy who has a crush on Super Boink. If you have body issues as a teenager, it kinda makes you feel not so bad since some people don't necessarily prioritize looks over your personality, etc. The ending theme is actually cute because it has a lot of pastries and snacks in the lyrics. Yes, I am motivated by food. One of the shows i waited for during weekends was Magic Knight Rayearth. Three teenage girls suddenly get transported to a strange land and they have been called upon to save that world. It had magic, adventure, action and romance ahaha. What's not to like? Most of us who grew up with it when it was shown on a local channel probably still remember the dubbed version of the song well. XD When I was painting this, I made a mistake of how i colored Umi's ribbon. Agh. But this took me forever to finish so I'll let it be. I decided to try something out like a 30 day project and see if I can commit to it. I've been doing chibi style drawings more regularly since September so I thought maybe I could draw some characters from anime that I've watched. I won't be able to copy them in their original style but I'll try to draw them my way. It will not be pretty all the time and I'd probably mix it up by just using pens and markers or occasionally painting them in watercolor. I dunno yet. I start with Candy Candy, which I saw in the early 90s. She's a girl, pretty girl, with ribbons on her hair. 😄 I think her eyes should look more sparkly but we'll, whatever.
