i’m the main character of the series.!! i’m a NEET 17 yr old who suddenly gets transported into another world (LITERALLY right after i BLINK while at a convenience store. completely randomly, no clear explanation as to why). a classic trope in isekais is for the MC to be personality-less, flaw-less, and super duper OP - the base of re:zero is going against that!!! natsuki subaru, SPECIFICALLY AT THE START OF THE SERIES, is NOT the basic personality-less flaw-less and super duper OP MC that is common in isekais. he’s super flawed, actually - he canonically struggles a lot with himself & actually really hates himself. i’m not perfect AT ALL. he makes mistakes & even ruins relationships with the people he loves sometimes, but he learns to grow and become better despite it all. on the “OP MC” front, he doesn’t have super duper strong magic or anything. instead, whenever he dies he goes back a certain amount of time (not controlled by him). he remembers what happened in the last time loop but he still feels all the pain and everything and has to go through like super traumatic experiences.
