After Dove Strider breaks First Contact with you, you're a little less leery about your new Chums.  Still confused, hell yes, but Dove doesn't appear to be some kind of new plot by her to try and catch you out.  So you click the next name on the roll and decide to take your chance at making new friends.

Your day has been filled with ups and downs. First your terrible wake up call and the panicked visit to Hal, then your frankly bizarre verbal diarrhea that lasted all day. On the plus side, you and Jontan are dating and you haven't scared him off even after letting him in on the void monster problem. On the weird side, you are Karkat are apparently dating too, and he has a filthy mouth. Fingers. Whatever. On the awesome side, you got off and you are now a lot more relaxed than you were.

You know there should be a bad side to all this but other than the residual ache in your head from drinking yourself stupid last night, you're doing pretty good. Mostly. Okay, so you don't feel like reality is shaking apart around you now. That's good, right?

Sollux worries you, but Karkat's looking after him and you think he's the kind of guy to keep things under control. You hope. 

So now you're alone again and the apartment is quiet around you. There are people you could be talking to, but what you end up doing is going to your bedroom window and staring out in the darkness. You can just barely make out shapes you know are there, and the couple muddling things that mean something's moving around. Waiting for you.

Why do you feel the need to stay now when you have the power to leave if you want? That's stupid, suicidal even, and you thought you were past that when you somehow survived your first game (when Jade didn't allow you to die with it, but didn't take you with her.) There is nothing keeping you here...

Except the scars. Now that your powers are more fully realized, now that you can see, this whole place is covered in half healed scars of time. No wonder your time isn't running the same as anyone else's, or even the same from one room to another. It looks like someone made a quilt of different bits of time and didn't give a shit what went next to each other, or even to sew it up tight. There are gaping holes everywhere.

You don't understand what you're seeing, but you're starting to get a feel for the shape of it, for the abstract notion of the problem itself. You're going to have to go and find your answers, and fairly soon. There is an urgency ticking in the back of your head along with the inner sense for every second you live. It is fast and persistent, refuses to give up your attention.
