I love bubble era stuff because they spend ridiculous amounts on sets and locations, for single episodes that would air once and presumably never be seen again. Even American variety shows didn't spend like that - everything is clearly cardboard and filmed on a soundstage.

right!? it’s flabbergasting to me (in a good way) that these performances were being broadcast live too. I can think of a few off the top of my head where they were broadcasting these performances from the complete opposite side of the world for no discernible reason other than to have a cool backdrop lol

Yep, absolutely no idea! That’s why everyone’s so surprised. She was active on instagram the whole pregnancy also where you can see her body.

If anyone's looking for non-violent stealth games: a few years ago, the BBC released a series of Doctor Who PC/MAC games where the game play is entirely stealth and puzzle solving. I don't believe you can get them for free anymore, but I've seen the entire series for about $10 at stores, I'm sure its even cheaper on Amazon. You don't really need to know anything about Doctor Who to enjoy them either.

The name is Doctor Who: The Adventure Games, if anyone is interested :)

I remember when someone discovered one of her songs was a sample that came with garage band. Then we discovered that that "Roxanne" who was on every J-electro track was also a sample that came with garage band and not some indie rapper who found her way to Japan.

LOL which song is the “Garage Band” one? I don’t remember this???? I do vaguely recall the J-electro community finding the same Roxanne samples being used elsewhere though, haha.

the Wikipedia page for the “I MISSED THE SHOCK” single says the dresses were designed by Kohga Mariko. Akina fell in love with the dresses after seeing them in an advertisement somewhere for Isetan (a department store chain) and hounded the designer for permission to use them as stage outfits. looks like they were from Kohga’s 1988 A&W collection!
