Went to Cineworld West India Quay for The Invite and this film completely caught me off guard. It's that good.
The premise is simple, basically one dinner date, four people and engrossing conversations and actions. It's one of the most engaging things i've watched all year.
The cast are very good. Conoetiing and engaging in equal measure. Edward Norton absolutely owns the room whenever he's on screen. There's one monologue his character does and it had the entire cinema completely locked in.
Funny, awkward, emotional… and painfully relatable at times. The Invite is proof that great writing and great performances will always beat spectacle. One of my favourite films of the year so far and worth a trip to the cinema.
