I went to see Disclosure Day today, I really enjoyed it, an absolute classic Spielberg film, but I feel like I would have enjoyed it more if people had basic cinema etiquette. Why is it that people think it's ok to talk during films? The people next to me said when I confronted them at the end of the film that 'they weren't talking loud anyway and I should have said something earlier if it was a problem'!!!!!

I've read a lot of people asking why movie theaters are dying and why people aren't going to the movies anymore over the years, and my answer is: people ruined it. More specifically: the general public.
People can't just sit and watch a movie anymore. People will whip out their phones or kick chairs or have their kids misbehaving. It's a shit experience to try and be engrossed by a story and repeatly be pulled out of it.
Arseholes like that had all this pent up rude bastard energy during Covid lockdowns and just unleashed it tenfold when people were allowed to socialize again. They just have very little regard for other people.
It's a much more comfortable and pleasant experience to sit at home and just watch. Sure I don't have a massive screen and 7.1 surround sound but I can just sit there and be immersed and take a movie in with no distractions and that's worth more than 3D, 120fps or any other gimmick studios can come up with.
The Hunger Games was awesome, totally going to drag my mum off to see it in a few weeks. I absolutely adored Woody Harrelson as Haymitch but there was nowhere near enough of him (he's my favourite character in the books) and the Reaping made me cry and it did have Buttercup in it and Cinna had the gold eyeliner! It was all so very good.
However, there were two people sitting a couple of rows in front of me...
And there wasn't a trailer for The Hobbit. No, instead I got to see trailers for Street Dance 2 and GI Joe 2. Really cinema people? REALLY?! I wanted the damn Hobbit trailer!

I bought a ticket to go and see The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists next Thursday though since they finally released the tickets to see it not in 3D (I don't see the point of 3D and wasn't going to pay an extra few pounds for it when I didn't want it in the first place), that did cheer me up a bit.
Now I need a cup of tea to take away the rest of my rage.
