I know I'm on the right side of the high potential fandom bc I've seen the morgadec scene in at least 3 different iterations on my dash already but so far not a single mention of nick wagners abs, the near kiss or the kiss between him and morgan

the thing about bertha and the Duke is that if bertha had been handed the same chance that she is handing gladys now she would have absolutely without hesitation taken that chance, grabbed it with both hands and made it her own. She's operating under the assumption that gladys has (or will develop at a later point in time) the same ambition that bertha, and arguably everybody else in the family, possess. And maybe, because of her analytical and self possessed nature, and her "everything will turn out for me as I want it to be" outlook on life (which is probably the thing that will become her downfall) it just doesn't even occur to her that her daughter doesn't share the same social aspirations that the rest of the family shares, that have acted as a foundation and amplifier of bertha and georges relationship from the beginning and have accompanied her and invaded every facet of her life in the past 20 or more years. This ambition has become so engrained in her that she just can't fathom why anybody (gladys, george, larry) would NOT do the things she's doing to reach her rightful place.
Okay, but can we talk about the Duke's sister? That changes so much regarding the power constellation Gladys will be thrown into in England - she will no longer be part of a two people marriage where she can try and gain her own ground and equal footing (as I had previously assumed) but with a sister in law like that there's basically a third person added to their marriage. With a sister in law that lives with you, has so much influence over her own brother, and probably will criticise you for everything you do Gladys will really need to grow a spine of steel to be able to cope with that otherwise I fear she might actually drown in english society
Also my hypothesis for why Larry is behaving the way he does is that he's (sadly) mirroring his father a bit too much with like the added privilege of never having to do much complex emotional labour or self reflection before on top
Like realistically I know that there is a more active newer gallifrey fandom going on somewhere but also I think it's very funny that with WR 3 out the only sentiment I have seen on my dash so far has been like 'I don't remember anything from WR 1/2 so I should relisten to those before I listen to WR3'

another really funny idea would be arthur darvill solely bc people are always saying kids will turn into their parents but this centuries old alien accidentally turned into their father in law instead
In light of the recent question of which companion actor should come back to play the doctor I would like to propose a new contender - alex kingston. lover haunting the narrative rose this lover haunting the narrative yaz that river is the doctors wife and the ultimate lover that should be haunting this narrative!! this would also solve the question of is river ever coming back bc it practically begs for an alex as the doctor meets alex as river episode which contains the potential for sooo many shenanigans
headcanon that the reason why bertha is so definite on the whole "young love won't last" thing is, at least partially, that george is not her first love but her last love. I've got two ideas a) as a girl before she met george she had formed an attachment with another young man, but he threw her over for a girl of higher social standing or with more money, she was devestated for max a day before she went back to business, but that experience cemented her lack of self worth further and after she met george, who was way more suitable for her, served as a first hand example that young girls who have no experience can't know what they want/need b) if we want to focus on her mercenary side more she was attached to another man while she met george and ended the first engagement to be with george bc they were more suitable - same lesson young people sometimes think they want things that wouldn't be good for them in the long run and only realise that when something better crosses their path and to make sure gladys never runs the same risk of settling for less she's aiming as high as possible for her
