They feel way more personal than most contemporary services I've been to, and a lot of contemporary worship seems more like entertainment than worship to me. Also, I adore hymns and my church's choir is absolutely beautiful!

Forgot to add this bit. I like a casual atmosphere in churches, we're all there to worship God. Children tend to make noise so as long as it isn't annoying it's totally fine. I usually wear a skirt but sometimes just wearing anything like jeans with flip flops and a hoodie is what I'll choose. God looks at the heart, not the appearance.

Also some people don't have formal clothes and kids find them uncomfortable so that can cause accessibility issues for formal attire. I’m going to combine a few here, from anons:

Im 20, and i prefer both traditional and contemporary hymns(the traditional is a lot more calming for me while contemporary makes me kinda want to dance x3 ) and i much prefer informal clothing lol but i dont really go to church but i still do my prayers at home(i believe that our home is also God's home)

16. I prefer hyms, just bc a lot of 'modern' worship songs at churches I've been to, i didn't really connect with them like i connect to hyms (altho i'm glad lots of other people like them!). i prefer the more structured services, i think. as for what to wear, i tend to dress up but i've been told 'you're always dressed up' by ppl lol so it probably has nothing to do w/ church. kids can make some noise! idc, but at some point u gotta step out and let them calm down if it gets too crazy, i think.

I'm 16, I prefer more traditional, formal services? But I don't think not dressing formally or being unable to keep your child quiet should exclude you from the service at all
