Riley was born and spent the first few years of her life in the alienage at Denerim, though she barely remembers it. When she returns there for Grey Warden Business at last she has a lot of déjà vu but otherwise doesn’t realize she’s rewalking the streets she grew up on.

Riley and Zevran got together, but both being fairly emotionally stunted people they refrained from actually saying the words “I love you” for years. She couldn’t make that kind of commitment for a long time because Riley was certain sooner or later she’d have to return to the Mages Tower. Instead she would tell him things like “come back to me soon” or “watch yourself out there, okay?”

Like a lot of mages forced into going into puberty all crammed together in a tower, Riley had an awkward teenage phase of fooling around in corners and sloppy, terrible make outs.

She loved her mabari, named Barkus, but he drooled a lot on her parchment, quills, and books, and it drove her nuts.

She grew into a very confident and influential figure in Fereldan, utilizing the legends of her exploits and her friendship with Anora to nudge political events how she wanted.

Riley and Zevran eventually informally adopt an orphan elf kid during one of their exploits. They both really struggle with being good role models, but do have a lot of love and emotional support to provide.

She is terrified of her Calling happening, but tries to hide those fears from others.
