There were many things Peter hated about high school, but the thing he hated most was the bullying. People were horrible, spreading rumors, always gossiping, putting people down. The schoolâs current target was Isabella, a shy girl that was in some of Peterâs classes. She always seemed nice, and seeing her treated badly made Peterâs blood boil. He wanted to show those bullies who was boss, and as Spider-Man he could, but as Peter Parker, he couldnât do much about it. Spider-Man was confident, an Avenger. Peter was, âPenis Parker!â Somebody yelled as he passed them in the hallway. He clutched the straps on his backpack, quickening his pace, hoping to make it to class before someone else used that nickname.
Making his way to the back of the class, Peter found that his usual seat was already occupied. It was Isabella. Peter wanted so desperately to say something, anything, but his anxiety got the best of him. Instead, he just sat down in the desk next to her, hoping he would eventually come up with something to say, and even if he didnât he figured it was better for him to sit next to her than one of those bullies. She made no indication that she realized he sat next to her, so Peter just looked away. However, he still kept a peripheral eye on her. Just before the bell rang, two cheerleaders looked in Isabellaâs direction before turning to each other and whispering something only they could hear. If Isabella was upset in anyway, she did a very good job of hiding it, and before Peter knew it he was reassuring her anyways. âTry to ignore them. Theyâre not half as smart as you anyway.â
