Crochet Christmas card
Create a simple Christmas tree card with some crochet ribbons -- choose the trimming/edging pattern of your liking. In this case, the pattern is as follows:
Row 1: Make a foundation of chains (ch) of a multiple of 3 ch + extra 4 chains.
Row 2: 1 dtr in the 5th chain from hook, dtr in each chain. (note: dtr UK term: /tr US term)
Row 3: 1 ch, (3sc 3ch, 3sc) into each 5 ch sp to end.
Create as many ribbons as you like, depending on the size of the card you have in mind. Their lenghts should taper off gradually.
For the top of the tree, crochet a simple circle/rosette, for example:
Row 1: 5 ch, join with sl st into a ring (or work into a magic ring).
Row 2: 3 ch, 14 (tr UK / dc US) into the ring, join with sl st into the 3rd chain of the initial ch 3.
Row 3: ch 3, dc (UK) / sc (US) in the next stich, repeat until end, sl st into the initial ch.
Press the crochet ribbons lightly--or not--(I prefer a shabby look, haha; to be honest I'm unable to create anything looking remotely polished), and glue onto thick paper of your choice.
Merry Christmas!
