In 2020, since the moon has already been fully explored and colonized mankind now has set its sights on Venus. Exploration crews (made up from three rocket ships…although one ship is taken out by a meteorite) along with a put together robot explore the planet which is largely water and filled with prehistoric type creatures, plants and trees (including giant carnivore plants) and volcanoes. They also begin to speculate that there were humanoid like inhabitants at one time, but all they know for sure is the presence of the lizard men. Venus also has a limited oxygen atmosphere.
