Y/N came as your friend Josh’s plus one to the mikaelson said Christmas ball. Josh linked arm and arm with you happy you came to visit him for the holidays. You were a little shocked when he told you about his new life in New Orleans . But he still was your best friend, regardless that he now was a vampire. You had just broken up with you boyfriend of three years and needed a get away. You entered the compound and Josh whispered in your ear pointing out who everyone is.

“Well , well Joshua who do we have here?” “Y/N, this his the “King” of New Orleans …. Klaus Mikaelson” he huffed sarcastically. “King, Josh you didn’t tell me I would be meeting royalty tonight” you held your hand out to shake placing your hand in his , klaus kissed your knuckles. “It’s nice to meet you love , exquisite beauty such as yourself here with josh?” He looked a josh who nervously smirked. “and why does that surprise you so ? Because he is a decent human…. I mean… Josh is great !” You huffed at him turning around pulling Josh away looking back to see klaus taking a drink , not watching where You were going and being your clumsy ole self tripping right into another man. Josh stood there like a statue feeling arms holding you up before Falling to the floor. “I am so sorry” Y/n looked up , eyes meeting probably the most handsome face Y/n has ever seen. “It’s quite alright, you seem a bit frazzled” he smiled at me . Regaining yourself and trying to make out words, never feeling more nervous to talk to just some guy. “I just met The “king” of New Orleans , he’s a bit of an ass” You looked over to see where Josh went and he was talking to some girl who You assumed was his witch friend. “Yes , my brother Niklaus can be rather… Difficult to swallow at times”he chuckled. “He’s your brother” hand shot up in embarrassment and my cheeks becoming hot. He smiled gently moving my hand away from my face, “ what is your name”. “Y/N” blushing still , you wanted to run out of there and fast, but you held on. “My name is Elijah” “Oh wow he was right” you smirked , then remembering to not out your friend , crap . “I take it you’ve heard of me then” he played with his daylight ring peeking up at you. You smiled and gave a little nod , josh described him to be Nobel but very dangerous when it came to his loved ones and you just called his brother an ass. You look over to see josh at the bar and decide to go get your self a drink too. “It’s was very nice meeting you, I need to go find my friend . He has my drink”. Before walking away he nods and kisses y/n knuckles. Never had that happen let alone twice in one night , made you feel like a princess. “Save me a dance Y/N” he smirked and pulled away when I looked up from. My hand he was gone. I found Josh who noticed my flaming red cheeks, “ please tell me there are no more Mikaelsons before I make an ass out of myself again” Josh eyes widened and shook his head, and a pretty blonde smiled devilishly raising her glass taking a sip. “That’s Rebekah mikaelson ” he pointed, “ Kol and Finn are… Out of town ?” He questioned himself. Y/n didn’t want to know what his hesitation meant.

Being human , Y/n had to use the ladies room. Do vampires even use the bathroom ? Y/n thought , thank god they are not mind readers. All of this being new to me and all, I’d probably offend someone and be their next meal. So you whispered to Josh lightly if he knew where the bathroom was. He chuckled, “duh of course they have a bathroom” . He walked you to the hall and pointed, you thanked him hoping no one was In there you really had to pee. Thankfully it was vacant you signed relieved . You double checked your appearance in the mirror Washing your hands. Checking your ex’s Facebook relationship status for like the hundredth time since you split. Still “ it’s complicated” like you two are in an argument … Like he didn’t sleep with his co-worker and all then put his hands on you . Opening the door you looking down at your phone, walking down the hallway not noticing where you were going. When you finally looked up you were in what seemed to be the living room. Your Jaw dropped at the site of all the books and paintings on display. You noticed a piano and without hesitation sat down and started playing , it had been so long since you had touched real ivory keys. You closed your eyes playing your favorite song ,when you opened your eyes you seen Elijah admiring from a little distance. You stopped and stuttered on your words, “ I’m sorry I took a wrong turn from the ladies room and I couldn’t resist” going to Stand shutting the Over the keys , but he vamp sped beside you re opening it . His hand graced yours in the process, which made your heart skip a beat. “ one more” he smiled softly . you nodded placing your dainty fingers on the keys once more , peeking out of the corner of your eye to see him watching you still. You stopped , “do you play?” “I dabble, I am afraid you y/n would defeat my best” he smiled holding his hand out to help you from the bench. “I’ve played since I was four, I was going to go to Juliard… But I screwed up that opportunity” “ why not reapply?” He was quite talkative, from what Josh told you about him he was reserved and kind of kept to himself . “It’s not like I was rejected, I got in. I let love or what I thought was love cloud my judgement”you sighed thinking to yourself . Y/N “ instead I followed him, took some courses here and there . At a time I really thought I was happy, truth is I let my real love go the day I backed out of Juliard” I could hear the soft music from the Christmas party , just spilled my biggest regret to a vampire . He stops once we hit the end of the hallway, and holds out his hand. “Would you like to dance?” y/n smiled taking his hand as he guided you to the dance floor he twirled you a little before bringing you in closer. He had one hand in yours and the other around you waist.

You searched around for josh and spotted him over by the bar still , walking over to him your phone buzzed in your clutch. Pulling it out looking see whom it was . Of course , it was Cal your ex . Rolling your eyes you placed it back in huffing at the thought . “did you fall in ?” Josh Chuckled feeling a bit buzzed himself, handing you your drink. You rolled your eyes, taking a sip. “No , actually I got lost . Then found. Then danced with Elijah” Josh almost spit his drink all over you , and had a small smirk. “Oh stop it, it was nice . I’m glad you asked me to join you, I am having a really good time” “Y/n hold that thought” Josh’s eyes widened ,his face turned and fangs popped out. “What’s the matter ?” You ask , and turn to face what he was looking towards. In the door way you see cal , what is he doing here. He walked over towards you , you put your hand on josh to calm him down before he got close enough to see his face and motioned for him to go , everyone back home thought he was dead. “ y/n you haven’t been returning any of my messages or calls?” Cal said, he looked like he hadn’t slept in weeks. “I have nothing to say to you cal , just go” you go to turn but he grabs you by your forearm . “Just talk to me , hear me out” Cals grip was starting to leave a mark. You try to pull away , “cal let go of me. How did you even find me” “Not until you talk to me” he hissed trying to pull you along, “ I used the app that tracks your phone. Who would you even know in New Orleans ?” “Let me go” trying to squirm out of his grasp. “Are you seeing someone else? Here I am trying to fix our problems and your creating new ones” he tightened his grip even harder pulling you along. in the corner of your eye you see josh starting to walk back towards you. “I believe the lady asked you to let go of her” Elijah vamp sped and slammed him into the bar stool. “What the hell man, mind your own business, or I this him?” Cal stood up and was about to put his hands on you again and noticed Elijah’s face. “ what the hell are you”. Elijah then-held him by his neck looked into his eyes compelled him to forget what he had seen and never return to New Orleans . You were shaking , rubbing your already starting to bruised arm . Josh was by your side again, checking it over. “I could have ended him y/n” he hugged you . “ I know josh , I know ” you pat his shoulder teary eyed. You turned to thank Elijah but he was gone, you shook your head . “ think I am ready to call it a night” you sighed looking around once more . Josh nodded and linked your arm in his . “Joshua” klaus came up beside him putting his arm around him, “ I need to have a word” “Klaus , I am just going to take y/n back to her hotel and then we can talk” he said nervously . “Right because you have any right to disobey my wishes” klaus scoffed “ it’s fine josh , I can see myself back its not that far from here” you smiled unlinking your arm, pecking his cheek .
