If you didn't know, it was posted by #AirForce veteran #ChrisLeDay (@mobbgod) with the purpose of it going viral, because he was sick of seeing cops get away with corruption. Ironically, the day after the video went viral, LeDay was approached at his job on Dobbins Air Reserve Base by multiple officers and was arrested for having open traffic citations and an alleged assault charge. _________________________________ His lawyer, Tiffany Simmons, later proved his innocence, however, the harassment LeDay experienced from these officers cost him his job for over three weeks. He figured that this was some form of police retaliation, but the activist says that after standing his ground, he has now returned back to work. _________________________________ Talia O: What exactly did you do to get your job back and what advice do you have for people who may feel intimidated by police? _________________________________ C. The man who posted the video of the #AltonSterling shooting online and caused it to go viral got arrested last week, and he believes that it was because the police were seeking revenge on him. #ChrisLeDay, who lives in #Atlanta, did not film the original video but he was one of the first people to post it on his social media accounts. The video quickly gained traction online through his accounts and then got picked up by the media. A day after it went viral, LeDay was suddenly arrested at his job by both military and civilian police officers. He posted about his arrest on Facebook as it was happening and made sure to tell his friends, "If anything happens I did not resist!" According to LeDay, the officers arrested him because they said he fit the description of someone who was wanted for assault and battery. However, once he was taken to the police station, the officers changed their story completely and said that they arrested him for unpaid traffic tickets. LeDay spent the night in jail and was released the next day only after paying more than $1,200 in traffic fines. LeDay is convinced that the police arrested him at his job and falsely accused him of assault and battery in an effort to get him fired. Fortunately, their plan backfired as LeDay still has his job, but it's highly disturbing to see the lengths the police will take to retaliate against an innocent man.
