Leon tried to convince him to quit, saying that there were enough problems with B.O.W.s and viruses at every corner for Chris's lungs to be blackened by cigarette smoke. That being said, Leon did have a vice when things got rough which was more often than not: alcohol. While he promised not to drink as often, he too struggled. It came with the territory of their anti-bio-terrorism work, and while they made a promise to each other to quit their vices, neither could seem to hold their end of the deal for long. … or the five times they struggled with keeping their ends of the deal, and the one time Leon smoked too.
