I survived the #choreoproject whew! We had our final @aftashocksd rehearsal of the year last night. Not sure what the future holds for me - I definitely hope to keep dancing next year, but we’ll have a new director & I’m not sure I’ll pass auditions or if my body will hold up. "I can't help you if you're not listening." I have been saying this for almost a year now lol it harks back to being asked advice and me giving it but it never being followed. However I wanted to show what freedom felt to me when I dance especially in the style i'm most comfortable with. I wouldn’t call this a COMPLETED choreo since it isn’t cleaned enough and I still freestyled some parts but I did take elements from my previous video and incorporated it into the choreography in this video. As the final constant output, I’ve realized that I tried to explore more contemporary dance styles which I always have difficulty with rather than trying to choreograph for more hip-hop/bouncy/funky songs which I’m more familiar and comfortable with. 

I really want to use this song for my IDM showcase project which will have a bit of choreography for a video so I decided to just freestyle to this to get a feel of the song and later I’ll detail the moves. I was in a room with other people so it was a bit awkward but there were some things that I liked that I did.

I’ve been feeling down in the dumps lately and was listening to this while cooking and it instantly made me feel better so I thought it would be nice if I made a bouncy, feel-good choreo to a song like this. I’m excited to actually clean and create a better choreo since I really like this song

week 9 constant output choreo project #4: finished chorus choreography with my collab partners to “Noir” by Sunmi

I’m collaborating with some friends to enter this contest to create original choreography for a musician named Sunmi so I tried to think of a point dance for the chorus. It looks like I’m flailing for the majority of this video (which I feel like I am) but it was interesting to think of a point dance for choreo. Definitely will work on this a lot. 

I had gotten sick during the week so it wasn’t my personal best but I thought the song should’ve been more groovy than sharp like what I presented last week.
