WEEK 13 - Pin Up! And its done! Everything has gone by so quickly!
I ran my text though Microsoft Word this time so hopefully itās all spelt right! Iām still a little bitter the gold didnāt work out but Iām still very pleased and proud with how it looks. And from what I can tell I was the only person to try to do multiple designs... they were smart to just focus on one, this was exhausting. But I like that if I wanted to I could just keep going and making boxes with more flavours. If only I had the time. Anyway!
Time to hibernate for the winter.... See you next semester :D!
COLOURED LOGO DESIGNS BABEY!!! I AM A GENIUS! I was trying to come up with ways to make the type logo coloured and I just basically overlayed the same colour pattern blocks from the boxes through the letters and it looks so GOOD particularly with the black bits framing it.
The first one was an attempt to use pattern in the logo but it looked too busy so matter which way I did it. All in all though Iām glad everythingās coming together.
I spent HOURS!!! HOURS I SAY!! trying to figure out a way to use copper leaf on the designs because I didnāt want to rely on my pattern but Iāve basically come to the conclusions: - The simplicity of the design is strong enough on its own. - The boxes are too small for me to put copper on - it would look overdesigned. - The copper only looks good on the pink, and washed out on the others. - Drawing has and always will be hard. :( I am going to do a lot of things involving copper leaf on the holidays...

Flavour logos for the back: running with that initial idea of having two things crossed over I created a variation of the original logo for each different flavour (I also changed lime toĀ āsalt and limeā because I couldnāt have two logos which looked the same)
Dialog: I thought it would be interesting to add a paragraph about the type of feeling the chocolate is supposed to represent. After all they were designed after my associations with chocolate and the idea of fun!
Changed according to advice at presentation: the nutrition facts smaller, and the flavour names added to the sides of boxes - theyāre going to look super cool lined up next to each other.

More logos - aaaaaaaand I don't really like any of them!Ā
I want to stick to just the type based logo but I couldnāt feel confident in that decision if I didnāt at least try a few things first. Now I just have to come up with a way to create a coloured variation on the type. I donāt think I want to just make it pink and picking just one letter to change the colour of makes it read differently. I donāt want it to beĀ āSāNAP, and highlight the ānapā.
WEEK 12 - Presentation
It always shocks me when these things go well. I usually shake and stutter a bit but it seems that pushing myself with public speaking has finally stopped that. ANYWAY, again really positive feedback! Iām so glad! Iām also glad I came up with the colour blocking before hand because it looks so much better. I only had a few things noted:
- Minimize the nutritional information - Add the names of the flavours to the sides of the box (thank god for whoever said that because I thought it early and then completely forgot to do it. Who knows if I wouldāve remembered!!)
Iām having too much fun and if I donāt stop now this is going to get out of control...
Iāve tried a few more designs and I kind of liked the colour one because it looks like confetti! (which is where the bottom right one was designed from - to look like streamers). I think Iām going to stick with my original designs though because they look like some form of abstract representation of each flavour.Ā
I think I have a thing for... implying... (is this a semiotics thing? wow we love learning)
